Worship Team Mission Statement 2009

The mission of the Worship Team includes:

(a) Nurturing and cultivating disciples in the experience of speaking and listening to God and to one another as the Body of Christ in worship.

(b) Collaborative worship planning with the leadership of the Pastor, the Director of Music, and the Christian Education Moderator; inviting the creativity within our community into the worship planning process.

(c) An emphasis on thematic integration of music and other components chosen for inclusion in the Order of Service.

(d) A focus on the worship renewal process: engaging in prayer and biblical discernment as we use the resources of our 2008-2009 worship renewal grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship to understand why and how we worship.

(e) Technical oversight of lay readers, projectionists, sound and light board operators, and media art in worship.

(f) Nuts and bolts such as determining communion dates and pulpit supply.
